November and December always bring to mind family gatherings, celebrating those unique traditions that have become special with our loved ones. But when families are dealing with caregiving roles, those times can lead to additional stressors – just what they do not need.
How can we help? How about offering time to help a friend in need by offering to sit with his or her Mom so that she can attend a child’s program at school? How about taking over a meal every now and then for the family? How about a phone call once a week just to allow him a chance to talk about what’s going on?
By reaching out in these very simple ways, we can all make a big difference in someone’s life.
- Did you know that 50 million people provide care for chronically ill, disabled, or aged family members or friends each year?
- Did you know that 30 % of family members who care for mature adults are themselves aged 65 or older?
- Did you know that 75% of adults living in the community and in need of long term assistance depend on family/friends as their only source of help?
Villa Home Care can help! We have a program called a “Gift of Tuesdays”. A family member or friend can hire a Villa Caregiver to assist with a loved one’s care for 1 hour on up for that respite time. Of course, it doesn’t have to be on Tuesdays!
We all cross paths with caregivers – each and every day. Just reach out.
For more information of a “Gift of Tuesdays” or other Villa Home Care services call us at 602-957-9300. Initial assessments are complimentary.
