Villa Home Care employs a Pharmacist experienced in geriatric medicine, to review medication regimens and advise our clients with any suggestions that will be helpful in establishing the best possible care.

Villa Home Care's Geriatric Care Managers will assist with medication compliance. Villa will assume the responsibility for ordering medication, filling medication dispensers, and will attend physician appointments to clarify prescriptions.

With the advancement of technology, another option available is an automated medication dispensing system. If incorporated as a part of your custom care plan, Villa Home Care's Care Managers will set up the dispenser with the current medication list and time pill is to be taken. The automated system alerts the client to take medication and if the "window" on the dispenser is not opened within a specified time frame, a designated individual (Villa's Care Manager or family member) will receive a phone call alerting them to the situation. The client can then be contacted and verbally reminded to take their medication-further ensuring an enhanced quality of life.
